Hollywood Heritage Honors Volunteers

June 6 was a gloriously beautiful Sunday to spend in the gardens of Wattles Mansion in the Hollywood Hills. With open vistas and lush greenery, the volunteers of Hollywood Heritage were treated to a leisurely afternoon/evening with good food and even better camaraderie. Hosted by Wattles Director Stephen X. Sylvester and the Hollywood Heritage Board of Directors, the event included a dart game with “fabulous prizes” and everyone was guaranteed to take home at least one gift.

Hollywood Heritage has been annually honoring its volunteers with a party at Wattles and feels that it is the least that can be done for those who donate their time and efforts to make this organization what it is. Volunteers work on such projects as museum docents, working on the gardens at Wattles, archiving materials at the museum, helping with research for historic designations, grant writing, and stuffing envelopes and mailing, among many other tasks.

If you are interested in joining the Hollywood Heritage volunteers, you can contact Kay Tornborg at (323) 874-4005 (leave a message on voice mail), or email at [email protected] for docents and to volunteer at the museum, [email protected] to volunteer at the gardens, or [email protected] to volunteer for general office work. The work can be fun and rewarding. We hope to see you soon at our next volunteer event.
